In 2015 – 2016 together with Utrecht University, established a training programme, as part of the EU’s Better Training for Safer Food (BTSF), for European official veterinarians. 

Its purpose was, based on current EU legislation concerning BSE/TSE control measures, to clarify which parts of the bovine intestinal tract could be used for the production of beef casings (as edible sausage container).

Besides an extensive report, five videos have been made, including animated sections done by Maartje Kunen – Medical Visuals,  but also covering the manual processing at the slaughterhouse.
